Welcome Special Guests and New Members to The Healing Cathedral Christian Church!
1. What to expect from the Sunday worship?
When you arrive on the parking lot of The Healing Cathedral, you will experience Five Star service from our attendants and greeters. If you need help locating the sanctuary, they will gladly show you the way. Ushers will assist you with seating and any other needs you may have. Our worship begins with praising God in song, then prayer. The Holy Spirit leads our worship through our Pastor. Our Pastor will give a message as God leads him. The message helps you learn more about God and the message also helps you make it through the week. We close our worship with a celebration of communion.
2. As a special guest will I be singled out or will I have to get up and say anything?
No, you are not required to say anything on your first visit, but we would like you to stand and be recognized so you may be greeted with a gift bag and a hug. Of course you are free to speak if you desire to speak.
3. How often is communion (also called The Lord’s Supper) served?
Sharing in the Lord’s Supper is at the heart of what members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) do when they gather for worship. Generally, each week worship will include songs of praise, prayer, scriptures, and a sermon. But without the Lord’s Supper, worship would not be complete.
4. What does the church believe?
AFFIRMATION OF FAITH
As members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), we confess that Jesus is the Christ the Son of the Living God. We proclaim Him as Lord and Savior of the world: In His name and by His grace we accept our mission of witness and service to mankind. We rejoice in God our Father, maker of Heaven and earth, and in the covenant of love by which He has bound us to Himself.
In the fellowship and communion of the Holy Spirit, we are joined to one another in brother-hood and in our obedience to Christ. In baptism, we enter into newness of life and are made one with the body of Christ; at the table of the Lord we show forth His saving acts in our midst. Within the church we receive the gift of ministry and the light of scripture.
In the bonds of Christian faith, we offer ourselves to God that within the universal church we may be yielded to Him whose kingdom has no end. Blessings, Glory, and Honor be to Him forever. AMEN.
